Type locality of Rasbora adisi, Gal Oya basin, Kotagama. Known from the eastern drainages of Sri Lanka, primarily the major basins of Gal Oya, Kumbukkan Oya, and Menik Ganga, The highest elevation where the species was found was at 690 m asl, in Ibbanna Oya, near Lunugala. The populations found from the eastern slopes of the Knuckles hills draining to Mahaweli River and its floodplain exhibit several morphological disparities (Ref. 123756).
